Pilot has found a very special friend...
He's perfect for her.
Meet Shep (on the right) Pilot's new friend.
Pilot prefers her own breed (she's a tad prejudice this way...just between me and you)Most working breeds do prefer their own kind. It so instinctive ...whenever we come
across another working breed she immediately likes them.
Shep is perfect for our girl. He's a German shepherd. He loves to walk and do tracking with her on the trails. But most importantly he tolerates her bossiness!
Shep's a good guy very gentle and sweet!
The best part is Shep lives right down the drive by our house. Bye Shep

ReplyDeleteI used to have a female German Shepherd named Lindy. Well, it was actually a long, drawn-out German name...but we just called her Lindy. She was a guard dog like no other...but looked very sweet and gentle. Her mate Keiser (shortened version again) was a huge black GShepherd that looked scary as the devil because of his size...and he was mostly black. However, he was the kind that would lead a thief to the cash box given half the chance. She was THE boss in their relationship, too. It's been 30+ years and I still think about my sweet Lindy sometimes. Hugs-Diana

ReplyDeleteI didn't realize you had two blogs!! Following this one too! You know this posting caught my eye - German Shepherds will do that every time!! It's been three months now since Harry left us - God willing we will get another dog soon. We just miss him so much. You know, you're right - German Shepherds do prefer their own breed. Harry would bark (from our verandas) at every dog except a German shepherd! I think they recognize in one another a close family member... Who knows? They are just brilliant (even if they do pull very much when walking!). So glad Pilot has found a good friend. harry's friend is named Pandi - she's older than Harry by several years and still going strong!! Such a doll!
